    Weather forecast for Cyprus

    Nicosia, Jul 26 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 27/7/2004 to 28/7/2004 ---------------------- Fine weather during the day, with local mist and low cloud overnight. Gentle and in the afternoon moderate sea breezes will prevail during the day, expected locally fresh over the south. Light to gently, mainly southwesterly to nortwesterly winds, will be blowing overnight.

    The state of sea will be generally slight and temporally up to moderate over the south in the afternoon, becoming gradually smooth to slight overnight and during early morning.

    Maximum temperature around 38C inland, 33-34C over the south and east coasts, 30-31 C over the west coast and around 28C over Prodromos.

    Minimum temperature 22-23C inland and over the coasts and around 19C over Prodromos.

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 29/7/2004 to 30/7/2004 ------------------------------- No significant change is expected.

    Christofias protests property exploitation in occupied areas

    Nicosia, Jul 26 (CNA) -- Cypriot House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias has made verbal representations to Britain's High Commissioner to Cyprus Lyn Parker regarding the exploitation of Greek Cypriot properties in the Turkish-occupied northern part of the island.

    Christofias received Parker today for an hour-long meeting, after which no statements were made.

    Cypriot Minister analyses measures for Turkish Cypriots

    Brussels, Jul 26 (CNA) - Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed here today foreign correspondents on the government's proposal for a series of measures in the context of the general policy to strengthen Turkish Cypriots.

    Referring to the current situation in Cyprus, he said ''thousands of Greek and Turkish Cypriots mingle in all kinds of peaceful pursuits, from working together to having fun together'', noting that ''over the last year there have been three million crossings without any incidents.''

    He added that hundreds of Turkish Cypriots visit state medical facilities in the government-controlled areas of the Republic.

    Nicosia, Jul 26 (CNA) - Cyprus and Serbia agreed today to form a committee to examine the prospects of Cypriot businessmen to operate in Serbia, Cyprus Communications and Works Minister Charis Thrasou told CNA today.
