President of the Republic of Cyprus, Demetris Christofias, appointed a new cabinet, it was officially announced Friday morning.

    The new Cabinet comprises of:

Minister of Foreign Affairs - Erato Kozakou Markoullis Minister of Finance - Kikis Kazamias Minister of Interior - Neoclis Sylikiotis Minister of Defence - Demetris Eliades Minister of Education and Culture - Giorgos Demosthenous Minister of Communications and Works - Efthymios Flourentzos Minister of Commerce Industry and Tourism - Praxoulla Antoniadou Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment - Sofoklis Aletraris Minister of Labour and Social Insurance - Sotiroulla Charalambous Minister of Justice and Public Order - Loukas Louka Minister of Health - Stavros Malas.

Three Ministers (Neoclis Sylikiotis, Sotiroulla Charalambous and Loukas Louka) continue in the same Ministries, while Minister Markoullis who served as Minister of Communication and Works in the previous Cabinet assumes the Foreign Ministry. Minister Demetris Eliades who served as Minister of Agriculture assumes the Ministry of Defence.

The new cabinet will be sworn in at noon at the Presidential Palace.

President Christofias proceeded with a government reshuffle, following the collapse of the coalition government when the Democratic Party (DIKO) announced its decision Wednesday to pull out of the government.

President of DIKO Marios Garoyian said Wednesday that DIKO withdraws from the government, which also includes ruling left-wing AKEL party, due to ``serious different approaches on the Cyprus issue``.
