extended hours
The new Acropolis Museum on Thursday celebrates its 4th anniversary with
a series of special lectures on the "untold stories" of the Parthenon
frieze segments, cut-price admission of just 3 euros for visitors and
extended opening hours from 8:00 a.m. until midnight.
In a series of gallery talks offered by museum archaeologists, visitors

of the frieze in the last 300 years, with the aid of 3D presentations
on four special screens installed in the Parthenon Gallery.
The talks will explain the significance of the various drill
holes in the scene depicting a rider with an unruly horse on the
western frieze, how stone III of the southern frieze was removed
by the crew hired by Lord Elgin in 1803, the stages for carving
stone II on the northern frieze and other details concerning the
monument.font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";mso-bidi-font-family:Tahoma;color:#0F1419;
