  • [01] EU's Barroso and Commissioners on Acropolis Museum tour

ANA-MPA -- Prime Minister Antonis Samaras accompanied EU President Manuel Barroso and members of the College of Commissioners on a tour at the Acropolis Museum on Thursday. "Everyone who visits the museum becomes enthusiastic," Samaras said, "Professor Pantermalis gave us a high-quality tour. We saw the Caryatids and the restoration work being done on them. It is astonishing when you walk into a museum and see restorers working on the monument itself, right there, it is amazing," Samaras noted. Asked whether Greece will gain anything from the EU presidency and whether the future will be better, he said: "Words do not count. Acts count, the strategy of exiting the crisis counts, this is our aim, we are doing that step-by-step, but steadily," he added.
