[01] Cyprus president due in Athens on Wednesday
ANA-MPA/ Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades is to arrive in Athens on
Wednesday afternoon to discuss the latest radical behind-the-scenes
developments concerning the resumption of talks on the Cyprus
issue. According to Cyprus government spokesman Christos Stylianides,
Anastasiades will be holding talks with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras
and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos.
"It is a very sensitive moment in the efforts being made and all should
demonstrate seriousness and responsibility," the spokesman said.
He added that talks were continuing on preparing a joint declaration
with substantive content and that the issue required delicate handling
"since one word can make the difference".
Anastasiadis has started to brief the leaders of Cyprus' political
parties on the developments and will convene a political party leaders'
council on Thursday.
[02] FinMin Stournaras in Frankfurt on Thursday
ANA-MPA/ Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras will be in Frankfurt on
Thursday where he will have a series of meetings with representatives
of the business and the banking world.
Stournaras will meet with the managing director of Deutsche Bank as well
as with the board of Germany's Central Bank (Deutsche Bundesbank).
Moreover, he will address a Frankfurter Gesellschaft fur Handel,
Industrie und Wissenschaft business association dinner in the presence
of 100 representatives of the business world
