[01] SYRIZA leader Tsipras: We achieved a great victory
We achieved a huge victory, this is the people's victory. We gave a
hard battle," SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras stated on Sunday evening.
"The Greek people gave us a clear four-year mandate to fight. In the last
seven months we fought with assymetrical powers. SYRIZA proved that it is
too hard to die. From tomorrow we are done with the old," Tsipras said.
He thanked Independent Greeks (ANEL) leader Panos Kammenos clarifying
that they will continue to co-govern. "From tomorrow we will work hard
for a Greece of equality and progress in order to have a more powerful
and fairer Greece," Tsipras underlined. "We have difficulties ahead
of us, but also solid ground. We have perspective. Recovery will come
through a lot of work, through a plan to return to growth," Tsipras said.
"The mandate that the Greek people gave to us is a mandate to put an
halt to corruption that ruled the country for so many years. They gave
us a second and important chance to end that regime. As of tomorrow,
we will put the old regime behind," he added.
