    [02] The IMF advises reforms

The last report of the International Monetary Fund that refers to the course and the prospects of the Greek economy advises a fresh reform of the Social Security System and the containment of salaries in the public sector.

It also recommends that measures be taken in the Social Security System so that the fiscal problem that will arise because of the great increase of expenses for pensions in the next decades is dealt with.

At the same time, the international organization urges the government to take measures for a more flexible labour market and the emancipation of markets.

The International Monetary Fund believes that the growth rate of the Greek economy will rise this year to 3.6%, instead of 3.8% as forecasted in the state budget.
