LABORATORY OF MOLECULAR AND MEDICAL GENETICS

A research fellowship is available at the Laboratory of Molecular and Medical Genetics, Department of Biological Sciences of the University of Cyprus, with Professor Constantinos Deltas. The position is for 28 months, funded through the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation. The gross salary is 915 Cyprus Pounds per month (12 salaries per year) (1 CYP = 1.72, Euro) and is available immediately. The research aims at the development of a program in molecular genetics with emphasis on inherited kidney conditions and the cloning of a gene for Medullary Cystic Kidney Disease.

The position requires a PhD and experience with polymorphism analysis and DNA linkage analysis methods. Knowledge of population genetics and use of linkage analysis software will be a significant plus.
