There are vacancies in the area of Digital Signal Processing with application to Audio Systems, for full-time occupation starting from January 2005. In particular the prospective candidate will be required to have:

1. very good knowledge of digital signal processing theory and techniques

2. very good programming skills in C

3. experience in digital filter design / implementation

4. report writing ability in English language

Knowledge of audio algorithms will be an advantage as well as familiarity with Matlab.

The ISD Digital Signal Processing group activities are mainly related to audio and video applications. The tasks involved include analysing and profiling system requirements, defining software specifications, performing mathematical modelling, simulation and design, developing signal processing algorithms, performing architecture specific programming and code optimization and, finally, verifying the functionality and performance of the resulting system. Parts of this work have been included in various ST Microelectronics products.
