[01] Engonopoulos exhibition opens this week
A retrospective exhibition of some of the best-known works of noted
20th century Greek artist Nikos Engonopoulos (1907-1985) will debut on
Thursday at the Benaki Museum's Pireos Street annex, in the heart of
downtown Athens.
The exhibition, featuring some 150 of Engonopoulos' works, commemorates
the 100th anniversary of the Greek painter and poet's birth in Athens.
The last major exhibition of Engonopoulos' works was organised by the
National Gallery in 1983.
